Evan All...Well maybe not so.

I did not see the movie, even though I am a HUGE fan of Steve Carrol in The Office. I just hate the fact that Hollywood thought that this would be something that Christians would like. Unfortunately, the mighty flop may scare movie makers from making movies that appeal to believers. I hope not. I hope that the lesson will be learned that Christians do not wear their beliefs lightly and a movie that trivializes faith and makes light of God or the severity of the flood is not something we will flock to see. Please understand me, I do wish for more Christian movies. I think that the formula has to gel, but there is a strong market just waiting to be tapped. FOX has a great review here.

Spiderman

Well I took the plunge. Amy and I fell and went to see the latest Spiderman movie. There was a lot of good scenes and a lot of akward scenes. Probable the most akward moment is at the end when everyone clapped just to realize that the movie was still going, and going. The movie tried to do just too much and do two movies in one. It may be due to the fact that the dude who plays spiderman has been a problem for the producer contractually. The movie has a lot of redemptive spiritual lessons that we can take away. 1. Not even Spidey is above falling into sin. 2. My favorite quote. "If you want forgiveness try religion." close. And 3. Spiderman goes to the church to overcome the darkness of venom. overall it was a great movie, in fact it was three great movies in one. A good lesson for this preacher, that it does not matter how good the content is, too long is too long. Tomorrow, I am letting everyone out early! Meet the Robinsons

I took the kids to see the movie "Meet the Robinsons" last night. Amy had a school function and so the kids and I headed for Pleasure Island AMC to see the latest Disney offering. I was very happy with the movie. I went away feeling good, and had several opportunities to ask the kids their opinion of the life lessons that they learned. It was cool that when the kids saw Amy this morning that Andrew told her that it was a movie about friendship. He learned some values! Hooray! I will say that it was a short movie, and rather than let people feel cheated time wise, The theater put a 15 minute Disney cartoon before it. It was so long that I thought I was in the wrong theater. All that being said, it is a great family movie, and lives up to what we expect from Disney.
