Hidden Mickey Pumpkin

Hey cast members, have any of you been to Epcot's secret garden? Here is a picture of a Mickey Mouse Shaped pumpkin that they grow and the link to their website. Answer me this, is it over by the landfill on Hartzog / Western Way?

Joel made me eat a live iguana

So last Sunday I said in my message that we all need to live like pregnant women in reference to the immanent return of Christ. However, this is one exception. Today I read this in my sister's pregnancy journal:

"Last night, I had a dream that my brother Joel, made me eat a live iguana- and that it was moving around in my stomach--- its funny how things play games on your mind- Pressley's activity is getting more and more easy to feel- which sometimes has an adverse effect on my sleep..."
That is not what I meant, and Jessica, you need to cut down on the salsa & liverwurst pizzas!
Editor's Note: The photo is one I got while googling "eating iguana" The other one was not G -rated.

Commune

Tonight at Cornerstone we will be having a special communion service. There will be testimonies, lots of music followed by a time to receive the elements. Spend some time today preparing your hearts to come to communion with God and other believers. Don't miss this service, we will begin at 7 in the lunchroom.

Christmas Wish in July

I saw these online tonight and just have to get a pair. I guess if I saved a dollar a week for two years then I can run barefoot and free for the rest of my life since my feet have virtually stopped growing. Link

Super Sunday

We are working hard this week in preparation for one of the biggest weekends Cornerstone has ever seen. We will be combining both the services into one super service followed by dinner on the grounds. We also have a big announcement that we will make during the service concerning some improvements we are making to the ministry. If you are one of our locals, be sure to be in place for the 10:45 service as we are really hoping to have a super crowd on Super Sunday.

So the police knock on my door at 10 p.m.

Actually it was 10:10 and I had already given up on the rerun of Friends where Chandler proposes at about 9:45 and was well into my REM. When the door bell rings that late at night it is usually not good news. As it turns out my minivan, which was on the street for Andrew to play baskeball in the driveway was facing the wrong direction. Truth be told, I knew this was against the law, as one time I actually got a ticket for this same middle of the night counterflow parking. I am thankful to the Deputy who was nice enough to knock on my door and point out my lawlessness rather than just write me a ticket like the last guy did about 5 years ago. Needless to say, now I guess everyone knows that I am not perfect. A criminal even, but one who was saved from the penalty of my sin, and for that I am thankful!

When did Macaroni become pasta?

I receive an email subscription from this guy and he poses the question about when macaroni became pasta. What a great question. While eating at TGI Fridays a couple of months ago we noticed that the macaroni on the kid's menu was $5.99 and even more than chicken fingers. Not to chase rabbits, but I thought chickens with fingers were rare. Here is what he had to say about the whole macaroni/pasta controversy.

“Macaroni became ‘pasta’ on the same day the hobo became ‘the homeless,’ the trailer house became the ‘mobile home’ and stock-car racing became ‘NASCAR. It would appear we’ve chosen to celebrate the mundane, elevate the ordinary and idolize the average."

It makes me ask how much I fall into the trap of hype in my ministry, where I over emphasize things that really are not eternal. If we are not careful we will busy ourselves with secondary or maybe even "non" important things.
